Post-DragonCon Update

It’s nice to be getting back to my blog since early June with a post-DragonCon update, and it feels good to be settling back in after DragonCon and getting my creative workflow moving again.
DragonCon always has a way of shaking loose new ideas. Sitting in on the Writers’ Track panels this year reminded me why I enjoy building worlds and stories in the first place. I came home with a notebook full of thoughts, and more importantly, the energy to act on them.
The first major task was reorganizing my Scenes Bible. Characters who had been drifting between notes and drafts now have proper homes, and the communities they belong to are finally mapped the way I intended. That cleanup work has already made the writing process smoother — the world feels more coherent, and the story threads are easier to track.
With that foundation in place, I’ve stepped back into Angels Unawares, about halfway through the third book of the trilogy. Returning to the midpoint after a break has been surprisingly refreshing. The emotional beats feel sharper, and the pacing is clearer now that the supporting structure behind the scenes is in order.
Alongside the trilogy, my in‑world cookbook is in its final stages before publication. It’s been a long, detailed project, but it’s nearly ready to make its way into the world. And because I never seem to work on just one thing at a time, a new standalone novel has its early scenes drafted, and I’ve begun outlining two additional narratives. Ideas continue to arrive — some from DragonCon, some from quiet moments at home — and I’m letting them find their place.
It feels good to be moving forward again, with momentum and clarity.
